Rosie Birkett headed to The Gower Peninsula with the Saturday Kitchen team last week to seek out the best cockles & laverbread on the Welsh coast. With St. David’s Day fast approaching, what could be better than discovering how these gorgeous products are harvested, and then to enjoy them as part of a traditional Welsh breakfast? It was cold, but the sun shone for Rosie’s first foray into cocklepicking. A glorious day all round, and an excellent reminder of why we need to keep supporting our small British producers.
